Studio Policy
My Responsibilities - I will do my best to treat every student as an individual, providing a positive and enthusiastic atmosphere for learning.
Student & Family Responsibilities - Students agree to arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with their assignment books and music. To make good progress, daily quality practice is necessary. I want the student to completely understand every assignment; please ask questions at any time and if something is happening at home or school that is affecting your child please let me know. It is preferable for students to have an acoustic piano at home; keyboards up until Grade 2 exam level are appropriate.
Commitment - When students enrol, they are reserving their place in lessons for at least one term. The enrolment is a firm commitment and guarantees your place (day and time) in my studio. Four week’s notice is needed for permanent cancellation.
Tuition - Fees for 2019 are set at $35 per half hour (less for more than three children learning). These can be paid upfront at the start of term either deposited into my bank account via net banking, or by cheque. Direct deposit, or cash per week is okay as well if that helps. Please chat to me about your preferred payment option.
Cancellation Policy - Any lesson that I personally have to cancel will be made up or a credit will be given. No payment credit or makeup lessons will be provided for students who miss lessons for any reason with less than 24 hours notice (other than emergencies, which I do understand happen).
Photo and Video Release - I have a Piano page on Facebook as well as my own website. From time to time I use photos and short videos of my students on these sites. If you do not want your child's image(s) to be used, please let me know. In general, the students love to see their pictures and videos on my website or teaching page. They find it motivating and exciting to think that others want to know what they are learning. The students are identified only by first name. I do totally understand if you would prefer your child not to be included in this.
